Chase Private Residences
Premier Fitness Club To Open On Premises

A new state-of-the-art fitness and wellness center at The Chase Park Plaza is scheduled to open in January. Owners of The Private Residences will receive complimentary memberships for the yet-to-be-named facility. The project, being developed in collaboration with Dallas-based Meritage Healthcare Strategies, will reflect the prestige of The Chase Park Plaza and MeritageÍs extensive experience in designing and operating similar centers.

"The fitness center will offer another significant amenity for The Private Residences at The Chase Park Plaza," added Marcia Smith Niedringhaus. "Exceeding the expectations of residents and guests is always our goal, and we expect this new facility to offer rejuvenation for the mind, body and spirit."

Development Team Welcomes New Resident Liaison

Beth Niehoff has filled the new role of Director of Resident Communication, linking project developers with homeowners. Niehoff will work closely with future residents to ensure owner specifications are met, also serving as the liaison between owners and the management company.

As construction completion nears, her position will evolve to accommodate the needs of the new community. Her office can be found in the sales and design center. "I'm thrilled to be working with residents to ensure their living experiences match and exceed their expectations," Niehoff said.

Chase Park Plaza Staff Profile

Venn Provides Service Through Friendship
Jeanne VennJeanne Venn's story with The Chase Park Plaza began almost three decades ago, when she was mistaken by actor Richard Harris to be the hotel's concierge. She had never heard the word before, but played along. She is now the only certified Les Clefs d'Or concierge in Missouri. How does your story with The Chase Park Plaza start?
I used to work in media promotions and I came to The Chase for a two-week promotion at the hotel. While I was here, people started to come up and ask questions - there wasn't a concierge at the time. I started to answer them and was asked to stay a little longer. Eventually that "little longer" turned into years.

You left the position in 1988, but came back. Why?
It may sound strange, but I knew I needed to be here - there's a kinship with this building. When I was first at The Chase, one of the more tenured ladies told me this building has a spirit about it. It takes some people and grabs them. She thought I would be one of those people. It's kind of strange, but she was right. I feel I belong here.

You've seen the building go through some changes. What are your thoughts on the recent construction and The Private Residences at The Chase Park Plaza?
I used to walk around the building and see it needed restoration. It has an aura that will never go away, but it needed a physical makeover. The residences help accomplish that. It's also nice to think that people will be able to actually own a part of this building.

How can a concierge assist a resident?
We help with just about anything - tickets to any event in or outside of St. Louis, dinner reservations, information, travel arrangements, knowledge of what's going on in the city... we have a saying here, "We don't say no."
